The Relationship Between Creativity and Skateboarding - Visualized

New book Skatescape by Peter Soutullo is about visual collaboration between graphic design and skateboarding.

Orlando, Florida, USA – May 28, 2021  skate[scape] skate + escape is a unique book capturing the creative intersection of graphic design and skateboarding. Through interviews, visuals and words, it seeks to answer the question, "Why do you skate?"

This project, years in the making, was an idea to merge Peter Soutullo’s two passions: graphic design and skateboarding. The creative element that can be found throughout skateboarding has always had a unique kinship to art and design. Both can be extremely creative, expressive, rewarding, loud or quiet—whatever the hell one want it to be.

Many awesome skaters and photographers have donated photos and their stories or quotes to explain why they skate. For some, it could be an escape from real life or maybe an outlet for creative expression or just a mode of transportation to the corner store. It’s different for everyone. There is no wrong or right reason to ride a skateboard. Just push.

"To outsiders, it was just wood and ink. To me, it represented everything good about art, creativity and freedom "

— Don Pendleton — American artist and designer. Pendleton is most widely recognized for the large body of skateboard graphics (Alien Workshop, Element, Darkroom), working with high profile brands such as Vans, Element and Volcom as well as for the artwork of Pearl Jam's tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt.

This book Skatescape is a visual collaboration between graphic design and skateboarding. The connection between creativity and skateboarding is unquestionable and this book is a great example of that. This a unique collection of meticulously designed layouts, insightful words and awesome photos from amazing skateboarders like Lizzie Armanto, Mark Gonzales, Natas Kaupas, Tommy Guerrero and more. It also features iconic photographs from the amazing J. Grant Brittain along with other photo contributors such as Jerry Martin, Pete Hon, Paige Rudolph Wester and others.
This book will be a 7in x7in image wrapped hard cover, with 120 pages of well-designed exciting visual content, with an introduction written by Don Pedleton.

Now go skate + escape!

Andersen Lab Explains what Architecture in it is and Why it Matters

Architect is someone who was a programmer, worked their way up to a Senior developer, and has had experience as a Tech Lead. Moreover, this specialist must be able to think strategically, globally evaluate the project, and effectively convey their thoughts and ideas to the team.

Berlin, Deutschland, May 18, 2021 Technologies are constantly becoming more complex, entailing the growth of software complexity. Building a program or an application without preliminary planning and design can lead to additional time and financial expenditures even at the development stage. There is a high probability that, after release, such a product will gel left behind since it’s not optimized. In order to avoid such problems, the software architecture should be developed at the initial stage.

According to the Software Engineering Institute, there are nearly 150 definitions of software architecture. In simple terms, software architecture is the framework or the basic structure of a program. IT architecture can also include system architecture that reflects the approach of an IT team to solving any problem or implementing any project.

In most cases, an Architect is someone who was a programmer, worked their way up to a Senior developer, and has had experience as a Tech Lead. Moreover, this specialist must be able to think strategically, globally evaluate the project, and effectively convey their thoughts and ideas to the team. However, the Architect mustn’t become a “bottleneck” - the only person who sees the whole picture and who is expected to constantly give advice and orders to other team members.

If several specialists of different areas are required to strengthen the team, and outsourcing company can provide all of them at once, this is often more profitable than hiring the necessary specialists separately. This option saves time on searches for individual employees - hence it saves money.

Unfortunately, there is still a stereotype that architecture is needed only for large projects or not needed at all. This misconception is believed by both young startups and leaders of large non-tech companies initiating the development of digital solutions for their businesses. Anderson labs has tried to provide arguments and cases of why architecture mustn’t be neglected.

Being a quality-driven company, Andersen delivers upmarket software to organizations across different sectors and industries. Their internal product management, high-lying level of development, and delivery discipline empower these organizations to realize value through improved performance, reliability, and profitability.

Acclaimed Author & Poet Palmer Smith Launches her Southern Poetry Collection with The Butterfly Bruises

Acclaimed author, professional creative writer, teacher, and poet Palmer Smith launches her Southern Poetry Collection of 80 poems and five short stories.

New York City, NY., May 3, 2021 -- Acclaimed author, professional creative writer, teacher, and poet Palmer Smith launches her Southern Poetry Collection of 80 poems and five short stories in “The Butterfly Bruises” ($18 U.S.) on May 15, 2021. Press Dionysus, a London, England-based independent publishing house, is working with IngramSpark for U.S. distribution.

Growing up in New York City, her mother packed up Palmer and her brother each summer for a road trip journey down the East Coast to visit extended family. Through the years, she experienced the sights, sounds, and smells of that Southern sojourn. She has sewn together those memories into a general meditation on animals, the ocean, miscommunication, childhood, Northeastern vs. Southern American culture, family, nature vs. technology, and the imagination of the introvert. This book may encourage readers to question what it means to be living and communicating in today’s world while readers the space to answer these questions on their own.

Palmer’s poems have been praised by the CFO of Garden & Gun Magazine and recognized by prominent author David Farley, who reviewed her book (see attachment). The leading photo for the book is by world-renowned photographer Jasper Soloff of Los Angeles, CA. The cover was created by entomology artist Evi Antonio of London, England.

Come meet Palmer at one of the venues onsite, outside, or on a ZOOM on her tour as she transverses the Southern and Midwestern states this summer and the Northeast this fall. She is available upon request to teach high school/college/university classes on poetry, please inquire.
