Sushmita Sen was awarded the International Association of Working Women Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor
Washington, DC, USA, January 23, 2022 - Highlighting the 10th anniversary of the prestigious DC South Asian Film Festival (DCSAFF), Sushmita Sen was awarded the International Association of Working Women Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Series (‘Aarya’). The Disney+ Hotstar crime-thriller follows Aarya, an independent woman who joins a mafia gang in order to get revenge for her husband's murder. On her win, an elated Sen said, “A big shout out to Indian women who are producing and working on such shows. Thank you on behalf of 500 or so ‘Aarya’ team members – from the bottom of my heart.”
Joe S. Khera, Director of the International Association of Working Women (iAWWOMEN) said: “Women represent a key demographic for the entertainment industry, so it comes as no surprise that 2021 witnessed a fundamental shift in the rise of female-driven content. With nominees from 10 countries, including: Argentina (Valeria Bertuccelli, ‘El Cuaderno de Tony’), Australia (Anna Trov, ‘The Newsreader’), Canada (Vinessa Antoine, ‘Diggstown’), Egypt (Menna Shalabi, ‘Every Week Has Friday’), India (Sushmita Sen, ‘Aarya’), Israel (Niv Sultan, ‘Tehran’), Spain (Ane Gabarain, ‘Patria’), South Korea (Hoyeon Jung, ‘Squid Game’), United Kingdom (Hayley Squires, ‘Adult Material’), USA (Mj Rodriguez, ‘Pose’) – selecting this year’s recipient was not an easy task.
As Aarya, Sushmita Sen’s emotions were very raw and personal, which allowed for her performance to resonate with not only a global audience, but also the jury.” On her portrayal of Aarya, Sen said, “I credit my performance to a collective effort of our team, the director, my co-actors and assistants.”
“DCSAFF is among the top 5 premier South Asian film festivals in the world and one of the most celebrated events on the Washington DC cultural calendar,” added Vice President of iAWWOMEN, Mitnain K. “This is our second collaboration with DCSAFF and we are thankful to festival directors Manoj and Geeta Singh for supporting our efforts of championing women in the fields of film, television and digital media.”

Talkingpoint Automation Supports Digital Pathology Ai Triage
Southwest Pathology Service in Taunton is using TalkingPoint's automation to drive the transfer of digital slides to an artificial intelligence engine to triage bowel biopsies.
Milton Keynes, England., January 18, 2022 - The introduction of Digital Pathology and other new technologies in recent years means that it is now possible for Pathologists to use digital images and artificial intelligence (AI) systems to triage cases. Managing a case load of approximately 35,000 histopathology cases every year, Southwest Pathology Service (SPS) is an integrated pathology service covering Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton (MPH) and Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil (YDH).
In Taunton, the pathology service has been an early adopter of digital pathology, commissioning digital slide scanners more than a year ago. With the adoption of any new digital healthcare technology, there are often issues around interfacing with existing systems. In hospital pathology laboratories, it is also not unusual for there to be several platforms in use with little interoperability between them.
Dr Fred Mayall, Consultant Cellular Pathologist, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, explains: “The problem we had was that our digital microscope slide scanning platform would not easily integrate with our other laboratory systems. Our research group had developed cutting-edge AI analysis software but we still had to find a way to export digital images to allow them to be processed by the AI. The solution offered by the vendor of the scanner was a manual method that was slow, and no suitable for processing large volumes of slides.”
The Pathology service at Taunton has been using TalkingPoint’s workflow automation software for several years to provide other process automation in the department, so it was a natural step to consider using TalkingPoint to provide a solution.
Dr Mayall explains: “The process that TalkingPoint now drives takes images from the scanner and passes them to the artificial intelligence engine. The AI can sort biopsies of the large intestine so that abnormal cases can be identified and prioritised for reporting.”
Downloading the images used to be time consuming as they had to be done one at a time. Users had to load the case, identify the specific slide required, select to export the file, wait for it to export and then save it – with each slide taking several minutes. In context, a typical gastrointestinal biopsy case may generate 10 or more slides which would take at least 20 minutes to download and save.TalkingPoint’s automation emulates the activity of an expert user of the platform to do repetitive tasks at high speed.
Dr Mayall continues: “It would take approximately 90 minutes a day for a user to import the slides into the AI engine from the digital scanner; a process requiring repetitive case number entry, mouse clicks and long pauses, with constant vigilance. With TalkingPoint, the process can be left unattended – for example, we could leave it to complete overnight. The automation is robust. Importing the slides had become an onerous task whereas this task is now managed entirely by the TalkingPoint automation!”
Malcolm Grant, Managing Director, TalkingPoint added: “This was a tricky automation to build as the automation would be driving browser-based software. After a successful initial test to check that TalkingPoint could control the software, an extremely robust workflow was built so that it would run unsupervised. For example, if something in the process didn’t work, the workflow would find out why and then try again automatically.
The resultant TalkingPoint automation now reads a file with all the required cases and drives the export process automatically, placing the files into an image folder - this is an excellent example of how process automation can deliver efficiency benefits and aid the adoption and integration of new and developing technologies within Pathology and other healthcare specialties.”
About TalkingPoint
TalkingPoint is used widely throughout the National Health Service in the UK, Metropolitan Police, Councils and a wide variety of private sector businesses and individuals. The company has a long history in automated workflow solutions that spans more than 20 years. The TalkingPoint team offer a personal service to deliver tailored speech solutions that meet each customer's individual needs and challenges. Eugene Buys Global Electric Street Sweeper
The City of Eugene has taken the next step towards a sustainable future with its first piece of all-electric heavy machinery from Western Systems
Oregon, United States., January 18, 2022 - Local equipment dealer Western Systems has delivered one of the world’s first all-electric municipal street sweepers to The City of Eugene. Manufactured by Global Environmental, this street sweeper will run an entire shift on a single charge and works just as well as a comparable diesel sweeper. In many ways the electric sweeper is better than diesel, in that it is quieter, has less maintenance, and goes up hills better than diesel sweepers.
"The City of Eugene has taken the next step towards a sustainable future with its first piece of all-electric heavy machinery," the city said in a statement. "This battery-operated, zero-emissions 'broom' will reduce the City’s greenhouse gas impact and is another step towards reaching the City’s Climate Recovery Ordinance goals."
“We’re excited to put this new street sweeper into the fleet,” said Eric Johnson, Public Works Maintenance Operations Manager. “Not only will it continue to ensure clean water returns to the rivers by picking up toxic pollutants before they go into the storm drains, but this electric sweeper also runs on clean electric energy supplied by the partners at the Eugene Water & Electric Board, which will significantly reduce the greenhouse gas impact.
According to Johnson. the sweeper "will contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing carbon dioxide by 115 tons, per a typical sweeper’s lifetime – around seven years.”
“In considering the purchase, our staff determined there were several other benefits to purchasing an electric sweeper, including the fact that it is powered by a renewable resource, and it’s quieter, which is better for the operator and enhances downtown & riverfront livability by minimizing noise disturbance & noise pollution.”
The city can also generate income by utilizing carbon credits, and the sweeper contributes towards the City’s Climate Action Goals. Eugene’s Public Works Department previously used 7 diesel-powered street sweepers to sweep more than 40,000 curb miles of streets each year. Johnson continued, "When one of the diesel sweepers requires repairs, it may be out-of-commission because of emission system malfunctions. This downtime can range from one day to a month depending on the issue and need to receive the new parts. The all-electric sweeper is expected to have a substantially smaller repair time."

Taipei, Taiwan., Jan 13, 2022., - OEM ODM Manufacturer Jammers4u is launching a new portable Suitcase Jammer with built-in Directional Antennas, 10 bands powerful 90W for CDMA GSM Cell Mobile 3G 4G 5G WIFI 2.4Ghz Wireless Networks with range up to 100m
Jammers4u is focused on market needs, security trends and responds by developing jammers to meet increasing requirements of the practical use in security market.
Model Silencer CT-2010HB-5G is extremely big improvement in a series of light portable Suitcase jammers, especially since the market demand for increasing power, because of increase in strength of mobile phone networks and the increasingly present 5G network.
Considering that the previous portable Jammers in Suitcase/Briefcase had a maximum power only 2-3W per Band, max 8 channels, with weight 10kg+ and Omni Antennas, and the fact that the old Suitcases needed to be opened to operate, new model will work from a closed briefcase directed where needed.
New model CT-2010HB-5G light is only 8 kg with up to 10 channels and the same power as much bigger unit’s 8-10W per band, total 90W with Built-in Directional Antennas
The device is designed to be used easily by anyone who can turn the switch on and off when needed and no special training is required. Designed to cut off down-link only, therefore it doesn’t have Interference to base station and repeaters. The effective blocking range is up to 100 meters. The jamming distance varies, depending on the signal strength and the location. It is a fully autonomous device with antennas and LiFePO4 battery capable of providing 90min of operating time.

Bible Seminar on What Jesus Told is Achieved in Todays World
Amid a global decline in the religious population, a clear explanation of the Bible has drawn more than 140,000 believers to the church and the attention of millions.
Sydney, Australia., January 01, 2022 - “Shincheonji Online Seminar: Testimony on the Parables of the Secrets of Heaven and Their True Meanings” is held by Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. This round of seminars focusing on understanding parables written in the Bible in the New Testament will be on Youtube live-stream on every Monday and Thursday on 10am(GMT+9) from January 3rd to March 28th.
“Parables are the key element to understanding the secrets of the kingdom of heaven. The prophecy of the Old Testament was fulfilled at the time of Jesus in his first coming. Now Jesus left his prophecy of the New Testament to be fulfilled “when the time comes(John 16:25). We are heading towards the true meaning as the prophecy is revealed,” said an official of the church.
The previous seminars on the book of Revelation for the last three months on YouTube were released in 24 languages and reached 7 million views in 136 countries including 16,000 pastors as participants. Shincheonji Church of Jesus said that 1,200 global church leaders in 57 countries have signed MOUs with the church to boost international cooperation and exchanges for educational support.
“I want to be able to grow in the word and I want to teach out congregation and help bring them from death to life. I want to be one with God’s kingdom and have open communication”, says Pastor Jerry Hagerman of Wayside Mission Church in Virginia, USA
In a recent report in December 2021 from Peu Research Center’s National Public Opinion Reference Surveys, 3 out of 10 adults in the United States are now religiously unaffiliated. The most affected in the fall in the religious population is the Protestant among Christian denominations that has shown steady decrease from 52% in 2007 to 40% in 2021.
This trend is also reflected by another investigation from Lifeway Research in Nashville that says most Americans consider Jesus as a historical fact but religiously have no biblical knowledge about why he came. According to the report, only 9% of the 1,005 respondents knew that his mission was to give open words (fulfillment) of the Old Testament.
On the other side of the globe, an increasing number of people are affiliated with religion. Contrary to the decrease in traditional denominations, over 140,000 people have joined the Shincheonji Church of Jesus after the Bible education course since 2019 and the subsequent COVID-19.
The official of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Across the world, more and more people are experiencing diseases, disasters, and hardships due to COVID-19, thinking deeply about the meaning of life and suffering. Religion must be able to provide answers to these people. In the religious world where face-to-face activities are limited, education should reach out to every individual in local communities.” “What the Shincheonji Church appeals to people is the clear explanation of Jesus’ mission in the New Testament,” he continued.
One can watch the seminar by searching “Shincheonji Online Seminar: Testimony on the Parables of the Secrets of Heaven and Their True Meanings” on YouTube or through the link
