Vizocom has received DLA Troop Support IDIQ CENTCOM MRO

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) announced that it has awarded a Contract for the Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) Vendor support for Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) supplies in the CENTCOM AoR to Vizocom.

San Diego, CA., October 23, 2019 -- The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) announced that it has awarded a Contract for the Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) Vendor support for Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) supplies in the CENTCOM AoR to Vizocom. The Contract has a three-year base and two one-year option periods and the total combined value of the contract program, which will be competed among four companies, is $500 million. It entails Customer Direct Deliveries to locations throughout the Central Command Area of Responsibility.

The CENTCOM Region includes the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

There are about 100 existing regular customers in the CENTCOM Region at this time which includes the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, federal civilian agencies as well as LOGCAP V Contractors operating in CENTCOM. More Customers can be added to the Program.

The contract covers a full line of MRO supplies in support of the maintenance, repair and operations requirements of installations in the CENTCOM AOR. Such MRO supplies include, but is not limited to: HVAC; refrigeration; plumbing supplies (including bath and shower items, ablution units); electrical products (including generators, wire/cable, connectors, sockets, outlets, lights, etc.); tools of various kinds; chemical, lubricating, and rubber products and products including same; construction supplies [including but not limited to cement, lumber and plywood, bricks, blocks, steel, aluminum, and other metal products, conduits, prefabricated structures to include re-locatable buildings (RLBs & ablution units), etc.; perimeter security items such as barriers, barbed wire, concertina wire, and sand bags (also used for erosion prevention)]; paint, landscape and grounds supplies, and  communication devices (such as walkie-talkies, two-way radios, etc. used by the maintenance personnel).

The tongue-in-cheek parody music video was recorded by song parodist, Loose Bruce Kerr, together with a production staff of his fellow employees of Sun.

Two years prior, Sun Microsystems hired attorney Bruce Kerr. Most were not aware he was the same as “Loose Bruce Kerr,” a nationally-known song parodist who’d opened for “Weird Al” Yankovic back during Bruce’s previous twenty-year performing career, before then returning to law. Early in 1999, Bruce performed for a Sun legal conference his latest parody at that time, “Y2K.” (“The Western World collapsing/My car insurance lapsing”)

Over 6 months, Bruce and his fellow Sun employees were charged by their employer with producing a music video (MTV was popular at the time) to Bruce’s soundtrack and a script he quickly put together. Sun senior executives were used as extras, including cameos by Sun’s CEO, Scott McNealy, and COO, Ed Zander.

Here, then, is the story of the Y2K threat as seen through the lens of a computer company dealing lightheartedly with that threat in the months leading up to 01/01/00, with the assistance of their employee, song parodist, Loose Bruce Kerr.

As it turned out, only minor disruptions occurred after millions were spent by banks and other companies trying to avert disaster. With dates in many computer systems at the time represented by only two digits (e.g., 00) instead of four (e.g., 2000 or 1900), the worry was “00” would be seen by the systems as 1900, not the year 2000, and worldwide systems might shut down big time, disrupting everything from bank, commerce, and health systems even to include images of “airplanes falling from the sky.”

Later, Kerr became Assistant General Counsel at Sun and is currently an attorney working at Oracle which acquired Sun in 2010.

1. Stink Bugs are attracted to WHITE (or very light colored) window frames and door frames. Make sure all of these entry points are completely sealed shut. Look out for gaps and holes or broken screens. Use caulk and weather stripping to ensure a tight seal.
2. If doors or windows are kept open to enjoy the nice weather, don’t be surprised if stink bugs fly on in. So to prevent this, try to keep them closed or at least use a screen door without any holes or rips.
3. Stink bugs are agricultural pests. So to control their population around the home, treat outdoors - focusing on the vegetation on the property, which is where they rest and breed.

Political Conspiracy Exposed in New Book from NEB Publishing, The John Fresolo Saga

Longtime Massachusetts political consultant and pollster, Richard F. Wright, reveals in his new book, The John Fresolo Saga, how Massachusetts House Leadership took advantage of a young, naïve statehouse staffer seeking a promotion to bring down the despised non-conformist State Representative John Fresolo.

Worcester, MA., October 4, 2019 -- A two-year investigation by Author Richard F. Wright reveals that top government officials in the Massachusetts State House conspired to pressure State Representative John Fresolo to resign using a kangaroo-court investigation that featured witnesses lying under oath, confused and contradictory evidence and denial of the right of the accused to cross-examine witnesses.

Under questioning by the ethics committee, the complainant broke down and started crying when asked why she hadn't gone to the Representative and told him what she had found on his computer instead of filing charges. It turned out, and even she agreed, that she was wrong about the Representative placing lewd material on the statehouse computer. But, now that the investigation was started she had added a dozen additional charges at the urging of the legal office and others to justify the high-intensity investigation underway.

Wright reveals that when the State’s case was collapsing, House Leadership conspired to blindside Fresolo with materials, unrelated to the original allegations; not taken under oath or during the hearings, to blackmail him into resigning. After the hearings concluded and a tentative resolution was under discussion, the committee suddenly admitted additional exhibits which had nothing to do with the existing 13 allegations against Fresolo. They were simply introduced so that they could become public when and if the committee sent the findings on to the ethics commission. Fresolo couldn't face humiliating the innocent people who would be dragged into the case if it became public.

Fresolo had just won his eighth term as State Representative in the 16th Worcester District, running unopposed due to his popularity in the gritty eastside neighborhoods of Worcester, Mass. Since being pressured to resign, Fresolo has not been able to find work due to his name being toxic on the Internet.
